The Blooming Space
The Blooming Space is a transformative 10-week in-person program designed to empower Black immigrant and newcomer survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) aged 18-29. This holistic wellness and skill-building initiative addresses the unique challenges faced by Black survivors of GBV, who often encounter significant barriers when trying to access educational and skill-building opportunities.
The program which takes place once a year will offer 15 participants per cycle a combination of practical skills workshops and wellness sessions. It aims to combat the social isolation many Black immigrant and newcomer survivors experience while fostering healing and supporting the navigation of life changes post-trauma.
